Innovative safety solutions for one of the world’s most significant pipelines.
Embracing technology. Transforming tomorrow.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline, operated by BP, is a critical piece of infrastructure. It is transporting crude oil over 1,700 kilometres from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean.
Its vast length and challenging environment can be hazardous. And keeping the infrastructure fire-safe has been a significant challenge.
BP needed a highly reliable flame detection solution. One that could operate effectively in diverse conditions, including remote and harsh environments. One that would protect the pipeline. And ensure uninterrupted operations.
A cutting-edge flame detection system.
Installing FDS301 Intelligent Visual Flame Detectors.
Advanced detection technology. Refined flame recognition algorithms. Designed to operate reliably in varied and challenging conditions, like this pipeline route. Rapid detection of actual fires. Filters out environment-related false alarms.
Strategic placement.
Micropack worked closely with BP’s safety and engineering teams. We identified critical locations along the pipeline where the risk of fire was highest. Detectors were strategically placed for maximum coverage, robust protection, immediate response and minimal damage.
