About the product
The Micropack FDS300 is an explosion-proof visual flame detector. It processes live video images to detect the characteristic properties of flames visually, by means of its flame detection algorithms and on-board digital signal processing.

The unique flame detection algorithm in the Micropack FDS300 is capable of discriminating between genuine fire conditions and other radiant sources that may cause conventional detectors to become blinded or produce unwanted alarms. The detector is immune to common sources of unwanted alarms such as hot work, hot CO2 emissions and flare reflections. This makes it a great partner on your oil rig or industrial plant.
The FDS300 is immune to common sources of unwanted alarms such as hot work (e.g. grinding and welding), hot CO2 emissions (such as turbine exhausts) and reflected flare radiation.
The FDS300 is an intelligent visual flame detector that uses advanced image processing technology to identify flames with high accuracy. It analyses visual characteristics of fire in real-time, distinguishing between genuine flames and false alarms caused by reflections, hot surfaces, or other environmental factors. Designed for reliability in challenging conditions, the FDS300 ensures rapid and precise fire detection across a wide range of applications.
The Micropack FDS300 can be operated as a stand-alone unit. It can also be integrated with a control system or fire panel to provide fault, and fire signalling. This is achieved using a 0 to 20 mA and /or relay outputs.
The FDS300 incorporates an advanced optical verification test which ensures the internal and external surfaces of the window are free of obscurants. This test provides peace of mind that the detector is ready to respond in the event of a fire.
