Toxic Gas Detection Review
Micropack design toxic gas detection systems in accordance with operator-specific guidelines and international guidance.
Using HazMap3D, we map the coverage of toxic gas detection systems in accordance with operator-specific guidelines and international guidance. We propose the target gas detector layout for each area based on the stream toxicity and the expected release conditions. We typically use this data in tandem with an appropriate consequence model to assess design adequacy.
We account for existing detectors by inputting them into HazMap3D for analysis and assessment. The tool objectively assesses the coverage of the existing toxic gas detection system against the proposed performance target. Recommendations are then made regarding to the adequacy of the system.
For exotic and rare toxic gases (BTEX, Benzene etc.), we carry out feasibility studies to determine the most appropriate method of personnel protection, where simply assigning a target for detection, and placing the appropriate detection technology may not be possible.
