About the role

The successful candidate will work within Micropack’s engineering team, installing, maintaining, and commissioning fire and gas detection systems for oil and gas and petrochemical facilities globally. This role will specialise in fire engineering related fields such as fire and gas detection, and fire protection.

The candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues across several functions such as operations, purchasing and design.

With F&G Detection being a very specialised field, experience specifically in F&G is not an absolute requirement and training will be provided.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travelling to offshore and onshore sites globally to conduct installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
  • Fault finding and repair of F&G devices/electrical equipment.
  • Documenting test results and fault reporting.
  • Working with loop and schematic drawings which will include creating as-built drawings.
  • Signing off equipment as being mechanically and operationally complete.
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, operation engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff.
  • Liaising with clients.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving in the realm of F&G engineering.
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety regulations and Quality Standards of the country in which work is undertaken.
  • Conduct testing of fire and gas detection devices at Micropack’s test facility in Aberdeen.

Requirements

Minimum

  • Electrical Installation/Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation or similar qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.

Preferrable

  • Experience in a F&G role
  • Experience CompEx/Hazardous Area environment
  • Experience in using AutoCAD or similar
